It's done.
Friday was a heavy knitting day, but by Friday night, the knitting was done. Saturday, I crocheted the buttonholes - a fast buttonhole, and one I'll certainly do again. Sunday in the early afternoon, I sewed on the buttons. It's done.
I had thought to have Fred take my picture lying on the bed with the clock in the background. A repeat of how I began the sweater and the Olympics. But after all that stress and all that knitting, I knew for sure that if I lay down on the bed for the photo shoot, I wouldn't get up 'til morning.
Not that you might doubt me, but as proof positive that the sweater was done on time, here is me wearing the great-fitting sweater during the Canada vs USA game.
In fact these shots were taken just after Cory Perry scored the second and what we mistakenly presumed to be the winning goal.
A re-cap on the pattern and yarn tomorrow. For now, I luxuriate in the fact that I knit a sweater in 17 days. I had fun. I learned a lot. I was part of something larger than myself.
