The Decision Is made

I have made up my mind. My next big sweater project will be Waterloo County Fairisle by
Anne Williamson.

The pattern uses Briggs & Little yarn and my collection of the correct 'Waterloo' colours has been building for some time now. The stash has been checked

and I am only missing one ball of bright orange. Instead, though, I think I might use orange mohair from the stash. Fairisle sweaters of this overall design, being double thickness, can be heavy. A bit of mohair lightens the load.

In the meantime, just to keep things hectic, I am preparing for a machine knit. This sweater, minus the pockets, by Chris Bylsma.

Well, my 'copy' of this sweater. The sweater appears to be straight forward and I think I can manage it without purchasing the pattern. (Read cheap). I am knitting this one with DK weight superwash wool in bright yellow held together with sock yarn. I am hoping for a thing of 'Noro' beauty, without the high price tag. (Read cheap) It intrigues me to try to use two yarns at once on my knitting machine.

And just because there was a minute or two not filled to the brim, I knit another neck warmer.

This one on 10 mm needles, with Patons Classic Merino held together with the lovely
green tape yarn I purchased at Romni Wools earlier this fall. A simple 16 stitch cast on, garter stitch and randomly spaced rows of yarn over, knit two together. These rows serve as both decoration and buttonholes. With several buttonhole rows, it can be buttoned in many places - wearer's option.
