I'm No Mathemetician

It is a good thing that I can knit, because I sure can't do math.   Here's the  problem.

If two sleeves equal one-third of the knitting and the  body equals two-thirds of the knitting, how much knitting has been completed when two sleeves are fully complete,

but only  one third of the body (that is one-third of the two-thirds) is complete?

See what I mean?  Who can figure that out?  I am no Einstein, but I think  that I might be about half-way to the finish line.  Before blocking and buttons that is.

What I do know is that there is more to be done. And five days to go.

What you have on your hands is fractional math.

One third of two thirds is equal to two ninths. One third equals three ninths, add them together and you have five ninths done or easily over half the sweater.

1/3 * 2/3 = 2/9 (body)
1/3 * 3/3 = 3/9 (sleeves)
2/9 + 3/9 = 5/9 (total work completed)

Oooo, so hard to concentrate on the numbers in the face of that beautiful rich red!

I was also going to say five-ninths, but that would just be historical data as I'm sure you're up to at least two-thirds by now! You're whizzing along

No more blogging for you! You better get crackin'! LOL The red sweater is going to be beautiful even as a New Year's gift. And that trout is gorgeous! YUM! but who 'got' to clean it?

I would have replied sooner, but after seeing Laurie's post, above, I had to lie down for a bit with a cold cloth on my forehead...until the dizziness passed.

Less maths, more knitting! It's the only way to survive!

Gorgeous sweater colour for a proud fisherman! :)
