It's my Mondo Cable Cardi with a close up of the 'mondo cable'. And it's also my 'new' method of blocking.
My normal blocking method is to pin out to size and steam using the iron like a hovercraft. Never touching, just hovering. I like this method because a yarn-store customer once told me that it uses the theory of thermal dynamics. Sounds impressive. When you
Saturday, Deb Gemmell's sample sweaters looked so well blocked, I asked her about her favourite method.
Deb pins out the sweater and lays a damp towel over the garment.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, I am trying it with Mondo. Without a detailed explanation from Deb, I am only guessing that she didn't leave the towel on top the sweater until dry. It would be weeks before it dried out. This towel went on this morning and came off late this afternoon. I'll let you know how it works.
Modelled shots once dry.

Cool, can't wait to hear how it works.
That cable certainly looks Mondo!
Personally, I don't block cabled sweaters. I block lace of course with full immersion and sometimes I block color work, but I'm more likely to just yank it around until things even out.
A savvy reader once told me that the hovercraft style is perfect for blocking acrylic (which I thought was unblock-able).
